I know, I know, I’ve complained about how hard writing is when the ideas aren’t flowing freely. I admit that, and it’s still true. But sometimes an abundance of ideas is a bad thing.
During the week I took off after finalizing the first draft, my muse was hard at work delivering me ideas for other stories. The problem is, even when I was gearing up to work on Librarian again this morning, she kept on pushing other ideas, mixed in with ideas for Librarian.
Fortunately, I think I can remember most of the ideas, because I didn’t take time to stop and write each one down as it occurred to me. If I did that I probably wouldn’t have gotten any writing done on Librarian today.
Mind you, I like having ideas for other stories that I can tell once I’m done telling this one. I just wish my muse would understand that there’s a time when I just want ideas on the current project. The problem is, I don’t know how to get that message to her.
